Hope for Atlanta was born from a deeply personal place. In 2021, my mother, Carolyn  Afzal, passed away after medical complications that no family should ever have to face alone. Her strength, compassion, and quiet dedication to helping others became the heart of this organization.

 

During that season of grief, I saw more clearly how many families in Atlanta were struggling with homelessness, mental health challenges, broken support systems, and overwhelming stress. I made a promise to myself, and in honor of my mother’s legacy, to create something that would stand in the gap for those who are overlooked.

 

Hope for Atlanta exists because every family deserves dignity, stability, and someone in their corner. What began as a personal mission of love has grown into a community effort to bring real support, real resources, and real hope to those who need it most.
